What is the concentration of the Calcium hydroxide solution in limewater?
Answer
I have spoken with our supplier of this and they say the limewater is approximately a 0.02 M aqueous solution of Calcium hydroxide. Because it is just a saturated aqueous solution of Calcium hydroxide, it is difficult to be exact about the amount which is actually dissolved. It is not a volumetric solution but simply an indicator solution for determining the presence of carbon dioxide.
